This month I am very excited to announce that the archive in Krakow began uploading scans of ID request forms.
This is in addition to additional vital records uploaded for several towns.
Krakow – ID applications 1930’s
ID application forms are probably some of my favorite documents. They provide genealogical information, including birth date, location, and parents’ names. But the best thing is that, in most cases, they contain PICTURES!
Given these ID applications are from the 1930s there is a good chance they will produce the latest if not the only picture of a person who did not survive the holocaust.
Please note that while this collection has been indexed on the Jewish Krakow website (https://www.krakowjewishheritage.org), you must search for records manually.
