Business Registration Files – Lodz
A few years ago I got to work on family registration files – you can read about here in my posts about Frorida.
This recent update includes 6,118 business registration files from the Lodz district court found in the Sąd Okręgowy w Łodzi. The time period for these files is the inter-war era (1917-1939).
Please remember that the collection holds much more than just business registration files. You should look at the archival reference number to identify a business registration file. The files of the commercial register (rejestru handlowego) are marked by RH.
The files are listed by the name of the business which may contain the owner’s name and occupation – for example:
- Salomon Herschkowicz- skład sukna i kortów
- Chaskel Chasklowicz – kupiec i krawiec
- “Merkury” Szaja Hamburski – handel materiałami piśmiennymi
These files include information about the owner of the business and the business itself. Happy hunting.
Kalisz – the files of Tadeusz Martyn
These files include documents about war crimes that took place during WW2.
Some of the more interesting files in my personal opinion are:
- Materiały dotyczące eksterminacji ludności oraz mogił zbiorowych na terenie województwa kaliskiego w latach 1939-1945 (11/1241/0/3/819)
- Eksterminacja ludności województwa kaliskiego w latach 1939-1945 (11/1241/0/3/820)
- Materiały dotyczące masowych egzekucji i ekshumacji z grobów masowych (11/1241/0/3/817)
- Masowy pochówek na cmentarzu kaliskim przeniesionych z lasu szczątków Żydów z udziałem rabina Goldberga (11/1241/0/7.14/1690)
- Kalisz, brzegi rzeki Prosny obłożone przez Niemców płytami nagrobnymi z cmentarzy żydowskich (11/1241/0/7.14/1691)
- Relacja opracowana przez St. Stachowiaka nt. straceń, które miały miejsce na cmentarzu żydowskim w Kaliszu przy ul. Podmiejskiej nr 23 w czasie II wojny światowej (11/1241/0/7.7/217)
